Monday - INDUSTRIALIZATION

 We are going to look at 5.3 a little closer and the begin 5.4 So many historical developments happened at the right place and the right time to make Great Britain (and eventually America, Germany, France, and Italy) the spot where the Industrial Revolution began and took off. Today we will take a look at some of those, and discuss how and why they were a cause of an economic and industrial shift that changed the world forever.   The historical developments that you should be aware of are: ■       Proximity to waterways; access to rivers and canals, ■       Geographical distribution of coal, iron, and timber ■       Urbanization ■       Improved agricultural productivity ■       Legal protection of private property ■       Access to foreign resources (colonialism) ■     ...

 Today we need to go back over the primary sources from yesterday. You need to choose one to SOAPSTone. Also we are going to do MC questions for 5.2 both in the book and on AP Classroom, and if you haven't done it - choose one SAQ on 5.2 to write (note, you were suppose to do this yesterday).

 Today we are going to finish reading the primary sources from yesterday. Look at some primary sources from 5.2. We will also read 5.2 in your textbooks.   5.2 Nationalism & Revolutions Learning Objective C: Explain causes and e f fects of the various revolutions in the period from 1750 to 1900.  Today we are going to look at some primary sources. I do want you to mark them up as we read, and I want you to soapstone "Wealth of Nations".  I also want you to do the MC questions on 5.1. We will be moving onto 5.2 tomorrow.

UNIT 5

Unit 5 is about the Industrial Revolution. It's a large unit. Today we are going to look at the brief overview of Unit 5 in your book and then read 5.1.  Today we are going to finish the lecture on "Civil Exams" and continue to work on the LEQ assigned yesterday. Remember tomorrow is the test for Units 3 - 4. Good Luck!

Wednesday

 Today we are going to connect to look at a lecture on the Civil Exams and then work on a LEQ (Page 267 #2). Remember the LEQ is due Monday so you should have plenty of time to perfect. it. I will give you a rubric so you can check off the points as you go. Remember 4 is passing.  Finally, we will need to discuss when you would like to have your TEST - tomorrow or Friday.

 We are going to look at a primary source today, and discuss 4.7. We will fill out a chart (study chart) and write the opening paragraph of a LEQ (foreshadow).   Before this we are going to watch a little of China's civil exam service.   HW: Reading 4.8 We will be doing an LEQ this week and taking a Unit 3 & 4 FINAL.
